Going Deeper
Unlocking Freedom: Faith and Works

Read Galatians 3:1-14
Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal new truths to you in a new way.

1) Verses 2-5, Paul refers to the Spirit as what that the Galatians received as a result of their faith and one who supplies miracles through their faith. Why is this connection so important to keep when we begin thinking about pride and works? In what ways have you seen the Spirit minister in your own life that could act as a reminder?

2) Verse 6 says that Abraham believed God and it was “credited” to him as righteousness. The act of “crediting righteousness” is in regards to a legal status - that the person has been justified before God; not that they have any righteousness of their own, but that God now sees them as righteous. How does this change the way you see yourself? How does this affect your view of God?

3) Verses 10-14 state that those who rely on the works of the Law are under a curse. It then states that Jesus became a curse for us so that we might receive the promised Spirit. Meditate on these verses and try to gain a deeper appreciation for Jesus’ fulfillment of the Law. Write down anything that the Holy Spirit reveals to you.

Read Genesis 12:1-3 and Genesis 15

4) What new truths did you learn about the Abrahamic Covenant? How does this affect your understanding of Jesus’ fulfillment of the Law?

This Week’s Challenge:

Stay focused on the Gospel.
Repent of those areas where Pride has crept in and focus on what

God has done.
Ask God to begin doing a Spiritual work inside of your heart where

you can see Him move in mighty ways. Ask for miracles and have

faith.
Read Galatians 3 again and write down what the Holy Spirit reveals.

As you pray about these things this week, write down the things that God reveals to you. Write down how He has used you this week to accomplish His purpose for your life.
