Read Jn 1:1-5; Col 1:15-

1) What is the significance of Jesus opening His letter to Laodicea in
this manner?

2) Why is it important to recognize Jesus’ rightful place in the process of creation? What does this mean about His authority over creation?

3) What does this mean to you? To your Christian walk? To your life?

Day 2
Read Revelation 3:14

(Focus on vss. 17-18)

Laodicea was known for their wealthy banks, fashionable clothing, and medicinal eye ointment.
1) Why do you think Jesus uses familiar illustrations to speak truth into
our lives? (Think back to His parables.)

2) Why would Jesus address these specific areas?

3) What attitude seemed to be prevalent within the Laodicean church? Why would this be an issue? (Consider the study for Day 1.)

Day 3
Read Revelation 3:14
-22

(Focus on vss. 19-21)
1) Vs. 20 is typically used to talk to non
-believers about converting to faith. However, this is in the context of Jesus talking to believers. How does this change your view of this verse?

2) Read Rev 3:19 and Heb 12:3-11. What does this reveal about God’s love? Why is it important to recognize this?

3) Read Rev 3:21. How does this verse comfort you?

4) What are your take-aways from this week’s study? Write them down.
