Going Deeper Vision of Journey: Kids

Day 1
Read Matthew 19:13
-15 and Luke 18:15-17
1) Parents were coming to Jesus with their children asking Jesus to pray
a blessing over them. Have you ever considered the importance of praying blessings over your children?

2) The disciples looked at the children as a distraction/burden. Jesus does not think of children as a burden. How often have you felt your children were a distraction/burden? In those times, is there a way that you can turn it into a teaching/bonding moment?

3) What do these passages reveal about Jesus’ love for children?

Day 2
Read Proverbs 22:6
1) Does this verse give you hope for your children?
2) How can you allow this verse to challenge you as well as give you
hope?

3) What is the condition given in this verse and why is it important? In what ways do we “train up” our children? (physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually)

Day 3
Read Proverbs 23:13
-14
1) These verses have been a source of controversy in certain Christian
circles. What are your feelings about these verses?

2) Do some more research on Biblical passages that address discipline. Don’t just limit it to children, but also include disciples of Christ. What are your findings? Do you agree with what the Bible teaches about discipline? Write down your thoughts.

3) How can discipline also be a form of love?
