Audacious Faith: Confident Humility
David and Jonathan were best friends. They also shared a common faith and confidence in God.
Read 1 Samuel 14:1-23 (Jonathan vs. the Philistines) Read 1 Samuel 17 (David and Goliath)
Read 1 Samuel 18:1-5 (Jonathan and David’s Friendship)
1) What similarities can you see between the 2 stories? What can you learn from the confidence of both Jonathan and David? Why do you think they had such confidence?
Read Psalm 62
2) David was an extremely accomplished military general and king of Israel. Yet, where did he place his confidence?
3) What struggles do you see David having throughout this Psalm and how can you personally relate to those struggles?
4) Read vss. 11-12. How does this give you hope and confidence? This Week’s Challenge:
1) Please continue praying for our church and our community.
2) Continue praying that God would reveal His vision, mission, purpose
for your life.
3) Look for an area where you can perform 1 act of faith this week. Step
out in confidence that God has called you to make a difference for
His Kingdom.
4) Reflect on your “state of confidence”. Do you struggle with
confidence? Do you place your confidence in the wrong person(s)?
As you pray for these things this week, write down the things that God reveals to you. Write down how He has used you this week to accomplish His purpose for your life. Then, come back to church and share your experiences on the Audacious Faith wall. Write down on a 3x5 card the miracles that God has performed in your life this week.
